Located in Auckland, New Zealand, AC Fibreglass Ltd is a fast-growing and experienced company which has been manufacturing fibreglass products since its formation in the early 1980s. Our focus is to produce high-quality, long-lasting items on time and to budget.

AC Fibreglass was formed in 1987, when it separated from its parent company Alternative Cars. The founder of Alternative Cars is still in business today making fibreglass cars, specializing in fifties-style sports cars, the TG and Swallow.  The fibreglass body kits are made by AC Fibreglass.  Click here to see more of his beautiful cars for which AC Fibreglass makes the parts.

Since that time, AC Fibreglass has developed expertise in a range of areas, including architectural, automotive and industrial. Our manager, a naval architect, built the water polo kayak in which Cameron Brown represented New Zealand in the 2004 world championships in Japan.

We also produce one-off items at a client's request.  Recently, the committee commemorating the sinking of MS Orpheus off the Manukau bar in Auckland asked us to make a replica cannon for them.  This was launched by the NZ Prime Minister at a ceremony on Waitangi Day (February 6) 2007, generating much media interest.

In our large, high-stud Penrose factory, we can manage projects of any size from small car parts only centimeters in size to church steeples of several metres.

Our standard products are made by lamination - both hand lay-up and chopper gun methods. Our in-house composite work using carbon fibre and Kevlar with vinylester and epoxy resins is done using the vacuum-bag method. This gives extremely high strength to weight ratios.

When we have worked together with a client to produce a unique item, that item and the mould belong to the client. We guarantee security of ownership.
