The National Conversation is about fairness at work. The National Conversation is a new initiative by the Human Rights Commission to promote and protect equal employment opportunities in New Zealand. The Commission hopes to listen to hundreds of New Zealanders- employers, employees, organisations, businesses and community groups about what would make a difference at work and how this would impact on people’s lives. You can engage with the National Conversation through face to face meetings, electronically through this website, through cafeteria and community discussions. If you would like to be involved please email us at emilias@hrc.co.nz

Dr Judy McGregor, Equal Employment Opportunities Commissioner is leading the National Conversation as it tours 16 regions throughout the country. “I really want to hear from workers what would make a difference for them and to talk with employers about what would help them advance EEO”.

Sue O’Shea is the Principal Advisor EEO at the Human Rights Commission. “I’m particularly interested in issues around work-life balance, pay and employment equity, and the experiences of low paid workers and people with disabilities.”

Moana Eruera is Senior Advisor EEO & Crown Entities and is interested in learning about the varied experiences of New Zealanders at work. "Capturing new voices in different spaces is a key focus of this project".
