In 1995, Jerry Harvey, a touring sound engineer, created a custom moulded In-Ear-Monitor for Van Halen’s drummer, who was frustrated with the quality of his earpieces.

Custom UE Reference Monitors - $1,965.00

The custom In-Ear Reference Monitors are designed for professional studio engineers and producers for use during recording, mixing and mastering original music content. Other applications include FOH venue tuning, live recording and mixing.
This is also an excellent product for “audiophile” or serious music listener because of its natural and authentic sound reproduction.

The Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors are an industry first and are a combination of the Ultimate Ears pro audio sound along with a flat frequency response curve that has been developed & tuned in collaboration with the historic and widely respected Capitol Studios engineering team.
The Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors allow the user to record, mix and master anywhere, anytime because they provide up to -32 dB of noise isolation. Once the product is inserted in the user’s ears, the user is always in the “sweet spot” no matter where they are. This is because the music is being reproduced and delivered directly from the source into one’s ears. Inside each custom earpiece you will find our proprietary six-speaker system, which delivers the headroom needed for stage use while optimally reproducing the total pro audio frequency range. This allows us to consistently and predictably reproduce more detail and clarity to the bass, mids, and highs. Passive crossover technology electrically separates sound frequencies, so you hear clear vocals and instruments in the mid range, defined high notes along with a powerful, visceral low end all without masking and distorting what could otherwise occur.
In addition, three separate acoustically tuned sound channels allow us to keep frequencies separate and balanced until they blend naturally in your ear.

Developed specifically for performing artists who desire significant stage bleed while performing. Inside the custom earpiece you will find four speakers - two for the right channel and two for the left channel - which deliver a summed stereo experience with the full clarity of all instruments and without loss of audio signal.
The proprietary dual-armature and dual bore speaker system with integrated passive crossover circuit directs the low-end frequencies to dedicated speakers for bass and mids and the high frequencies to dedicated speakers for treble, while maintaining clear detailed vocals and other instruments found in the mid range. The result is an evenly balanced frequency response with the best possible detail while taking into account the introduction of ambient stage noise.

It is the ideal solution for performing harmonies and acoustic sets or for playing in small venues and special events when it is imperative to hear the stage noise and crowd cheer.
For this application, the custom UE - 1 Pro is much more convenient and practical than a pair of In-ear-monitors. The single cable eliminates the need for a standard Y-cable. The UE -1 Pro is compatible with wireless transmission systems and portable media devices.

Titanium-Faceplates, Artwork and Initials on your custom UE In-ear-monitors:

Your custom In-ear-monitors will include your initials on them for ease of identifaction.

For an additional $220.00 you can add a titanium-faceplate or any artwork to your custom In-ear-monitors to further personalize them. You will need to provide to us with an electronic file of your artwork, either as 'jpg' - or a 'pdf' - file.

The minimum resolution required is 600 x 600 dpi. Any less is not suitable and the higher the resolution of your artwork is, the sharper and neater it will appear on the face of your custom In-ear-monitor.  You can get as creative as you want with your artwork.

If your artwork design includes using crystals, charms or anything other than just the image, please note that additional charges will apply. We can provide you with a quote first if requested. If you send your image prior to placing your order with us, we can give you a quote for adding your artwork.
