Blind often unemployed in Britain

Despite being generally well qualified, blind people are much more likely to be unemployed, research for the Britain’s Royal National Institute of Blind People has found. Thirteen percent of people with seeing difficulties are unemployed, compared to 8% of people with other disabilities. Of those who do work, however, more blind people in Britain are found in high-level jobs, with 46% in managerial and technical occupations, compared to 42% of the general population and 36% of working people with other disabilities.
