Helping community agencies with good employer advice is a major recommendation from the Northland regional report in the National Conversation About Work project.
“We heard from community employers that they would like EEO policies and practices that are targeted at the not-for-profit sector,” says EEO Commissioner Dr Judy McGregor.
The need for good advice and toolkits was highlighted in the recession when many community agencies had to make people redundant because of funding cuts.
The Commission hoped in the future to work with the not-for-profit sector, including Māori service providers, to scope what is required.
