Qualified Marine Engineers for Scampi Trawlers
Sanford Limited is seeking qualified Marine Engineers for its Scampi Trawlers - fishing throughout New Zealand waters. Minimum qualification required is MEC6. At sea experience and a proven work history are essential. These positions will be filled immediately - you will be required to work at sea for four-five weeks at a time on trip on - trip off basis.
Factory Vessels Fishing Positions
The Sanford Limited Deepwater Fleet is now taking registrations of interest for positions on our Factory Freezer Trawlers, with some positions requiring an immediate start. A proven work history and at sea experience is preferable. Qualified and non qualified positions are available.
Positions include:
• Qualified Deck Hands
• Deck Hands

Diesel Mechanic / Technician
Sanford Ltd Deep Water Division (Timaru) is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic with marine engine experience who possesses good fitting and turning skills or may consider a highly experienced fitter turner with diesel engine knowledge and experience to fill the Fleet Diesel Technicians position in Timaru.

Duties would include maintenance and routine servicing main and auxiliary marine diesel engines and a range of ship born machinery.
Proven mechanical skills, good organisation and administration skills are required for this position. A self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised and maintain good records is also important, along with the ability to work as a team.

This position would offer you the opportunity to fully utilise your mechanical skills in a job that is both challenging and rewarding. A full time position within a small friendly team, along with excellent remuneration and employment conditions would be offered to the right person.

VESSEL MANAGER
Deep Sea Factory Fishing Vessel

Sanford Limited currently has a vacancy for a
Vessel Manager in its Deepwater Division
based in Timaru.

This position is responsible for the successful
operation and management of one or more of
Sanford’s Deepwater fishing factory vessels.

You are likely to have an understanding or experience
in a number of the following categories:
• Safe Ship Management processes
• Fishing technologies / fish processing systems
• Maintenance / Engineering
• Procurement and management of goods and
services
• Financial management and reporting
• Quota Management and relevant fishing-related
Legislation
• NZFSA / RMP Systems

Primarily you will be practically minded, with
excellent communication skills and the ability to
inter relate with a diverse range of people / skill
bases. You will be someone who can manage
pressure situations requiring multi-tasking
and scheduling of competing activities.
Computer skills are essential.
